HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Stevenson women's tennis team dropped a close to match to Ripon College (Wis.) on the second day of the Spring Tennis Fest, 4-3. 

Ariella Stepleman and Shelby Carter cruised to a 6-2 win in No. 1 singles - giving them six wins on the year. Bethany Luckett and Kara Chwang dropped their No. 3 match by a 6-4 score in No. 2.

Carter picked up her third singles win of the season in No. 1 after overcoming a one-set deficit by a score of 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8). Stepleman won her fifth match of the season in No. 2, 6-3, 6-1. Chwang won her second match of the trip by a 6-4, 6-1 margin. 

Stevenson (3-3) continues spring break play against the Illinois Institute of Technology on Thursday, March 20 at 9 a.m.
