OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University baseball team dropped a pair of games to Washington College on Saturday at The Yard, as the Shoremen (6-1) won game one 13-6 and game two 14-7.
In game one, Dalton Reinhart was 3-for-4 with a run scored and four RBI. Seven other Mustangs collected hits in the opener, while Chase Endres had two RBI.
Trailing 1-0 after the top half of the first, Reinhart gave the Mustangs a 2-1 lead after one inning as Dalton homered to left center scoring Nick Griffin.
Down 7-2 in the fourth, Reinhart hit a two-run single that scored Brady Bedway and John Padousis to cut the deficit to 7-4.
Endres doubled to right in the seventh, as his pinch hit double scored AJ Viccora and Brandon Perillo.
John Delgado took the loss, going 2.1 innings striking out four and walking one.
In game two, Washington stormed out to a 4-0 lead after a half inning before Stevenson got a run in the fourth as Jaylon Surell doubled to center scoring Perillo.
Trailing 6-1, Stevenson made a charge in the eighth scoring four runs with John Noll reaching on an error scoring Kaige Garrity. Surell walked in a run, as Noll scored on a bases loaded walk. Griffin then singled home Zack Majeski and Michael McGarry to make the score 6-5.
Down 14-5, Stevenson scored two runs in the ninth as McGarry singled home Christopher Manco, before Connor Wilkerson scored on a sacrifice fly by Surell.
Garrity had two hits in the loss, with Surell having three RBI.
Jake Treasure took the loss, striking out five in five innings of work.
Stevenson heads up the road to McDaniel on Tuesday.
