CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Stevenson women's lacrosse team (2-1) took down the Washington (Md.) Shorewomen 19-11 on Saturday afternoon. In the contest, Kara Yarusso broke Stevenson's all-time career-goal record and now holds the record with 177 career-goals, which was previously held by a Marisa Meiklejohn (2011-2014) at 173.

After winning the opening draw, Sophia Murray put away the first goal of the contest at 13:45 on the clock, and less than a minute later Erin Steinberg followed with a second goal for the Mustangs. The Shorewomen replied with their first goal just under 10 minutes left in the quarter, but Kara Yarusso responded a minute later to make it a 3-1 game, before netting another goal with 7:42 on the clock. With that goal, Yarusso broke Stevenson's all-time career-goal record with her 174th goal. About 12 seconds later, Murray put away another goal right off another draw control win and was followed with a goal from Olivia Galati to post a 6-1 lead.

To finish out the quarter, Isabelle VanEmburgh put away two more goals, one of them man-up, to put Stevenson up 10-1.
