ASHLAND, Va. – The Stevenson University closed its three-match, two-day swing in Virginia by splitting two matches at a tri-match hosted by Randolph-Macon on Saturday.
In the opener, Stevenson swept Roanoke, 3-0, before dropping a 3-1 decision to host Randolph-Macon in the nightcap.

Set scores in the opener were 25-22, 25-21 and 25-21. The Mustangs hit .274 in the first match, while swinging .400 in the first set (16-4-30).
Tim Flanagan had a monster first game, as he swung .591 with 15 kills on 22 attempts with just two errors.
Anthony Pezzino had 12 kills, with
Ryan Thenell having 11.
Doug Hines had 33 assists, while Pezzino had
Corwin Trouteaud each had four block assists. Pezzino had ten digs defensively.
Randolph-Macon 3, Stevenson 1
Set scores were 25-17, 24-26, 25-21 and 25-20 in favor of the Yellow Jackets (4-4).
For Stevenson (5-4), Flanagan had 20 kills, with Thenell getting 12.
RC Getteau had six blocks with Flanagan and Thenell getting four. Hines had 38 assists while Thenell had ten digs.
Stevenson will next be in action on Tuesday, February 25, at home against Marymount.
