Box Score ASTON, Pa. - Stevenson Men's Hockey made up their MAC contest with Neumann University this afternoon on the road. Though the Mustangs got on the board first, the Knights turned up their offense in the second and third periods to defeat the Mustangs 6-2.
Junior Blake Benson got the game's scoring started halfway through the first period via classmates Caden Smith and John Musella. The goal was Benson's 12th on the year while the assists were Smith and Musella's seventh and fourth, respectively.
Neumann was able to score the equalizer a few minutes later, then took the lead just one minute into the second period.
It was Caden Smith to switch places with Blake Benson for the Mustangs' second goal as he netted his sixth of the season, giving Benson his seventh assist in the process.
The Knights were quick to respond, scoring 30 seconds later before adding three more unanswered goals.
Benson led the Mustangs with nine shots, followed by senior Liam McCanney with five.
In the circle, senior Graeme McCrory won a team-high ten draws. Senior Dylan Florit followed with seven wins and senior Jake Roberts and first year Aiden Lindley won six each.
Junior Ford DeLoss made 16 stops in the cage.
The Mustangs stand at 13-7-2 overall and 10-6-2 in the MAC. They look to return to the win column on Friday, February 14th when they host Alvernia University.
