WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Stevenson Women's Hockey finished their weekend in Wilkes-Barre with a conference matchup against (RV) Wilkes University. A three-goal first period out of the Colonels propelled them to a 4-0 victory.
The Colonels had a dominant first period, firing 26 shots on goal in the opening 20. Three of those shots found their way to the back of the net, two of which came on the Mustangs' penalty kill.
Wilkes added another 31 shots across the second and third periods, notching their fourth and final goal halfway through the second.
For Stevenson, sophomore Abby Smith led the offense with three shots, followed by graduate student Franki Cappello with two.
In net, senior Olivia DeGuire totaled 53 saves, bringing her season total to 518.
The Mustangs (6-12-1, 4-10-1 MAC) return to the Reisterstown Sportsplex next Friday and Saturday, February 7th and 8th, to face off against Hood and Neumann.
