Men's Basketball Closes Calendar Year with Dominant 89-49 Win Over Central Penn

Huntingdon, Pa. (December 30) – The Stevenson men's basketball team closed out the 2025 calendar year with another mark in the win column, defeating Central Penn, 89-49, in the consolation game of the Doc Greene Tournament, hosted by Juniata.

Eager to bounce back from the previous night, the Mustangs wasted no time making a statement. Kole Beaman sparked a dominant start, igniting a 16-0 run over the opening seven minutes of action to give Stevenson early control.

The Mustangs continued to build their lead with relentless energy on both ends of the floor. Kendall Seguignol highlighted the run with a steal and emphatic fast-break dunk to extend the advantage to 28-5. Central Penn managed to reach the 20-point mark before halftime, but Myles Jackson answered with a buzzer-beating three-pointer to send Stevenson into the break holding a commanding 25-point lead.

Stevenson kept the pressure on coming out of halftime and pushed its lead to 30 for the first time with 6:43 remaining, following a fast-break layup by Giampaolo Tripodi that made the score 70-40. From there, the Mustangs closed out the game with a decisive 19-7 run, allowing Central Penn the final basket in a dominant 89-49 non-conference victory.

Stevenson will look ahead to its next contest later this week, traveling a short distance to Johns Hopkins for a non-conference match up scheduled for noon on Saturday, January 3.
