Men's Basketball Defends Owings Mills Gymnasium from Wilson, 75-68

Owings Mills, Md. (December 16) – The Stevenson men's basketball team closed out the 2025 home slate with a hard-fought 75–68 victory over Wilson on Tuesday night at Owings Mills Gymnasium, using a strong second-half performance to pull away and secure the win.

Stevenson set the tone early with energy on the glass, as Kyle Luddy converted multiple second-chance opportunities to give the Mustangs the game's first points. The opening minutes featured several lead changes, with Wilson answering nearly every Stevenson basket. Myles Jackson attacked the paint to keep the Mustangs in rhythm, while David Pridgen sparked a fast-break three to tie the game midway through the half.

The Mustangs continued to pressure defensively, forcing turnovers that led to transition chances. Kole Beaman finished a layup off an offensive rebound to give Stevenson a brief edge, but Wilson responded late in the half with a pair of threes. Despite the surge, Stevenson stayed composed and closed the half strong, as Christian Jackson finished at the rim in the final seconds to cut the deficit to just one, sending the Mustangs into halftime trailing 36–35.

Stevenson wasted little time grabbing momentum in the second half. Jackson opened the period with a layup and a free throw, and Noah Ihezue followed with a three-pointer to push the Mustangs in front. The teams traded baskets over the next several minutes, but Stevenson's balanced attack and rebounding presence began to show. Luddy finished inside off a feed from Christian Jackson, while Beaman dished out assists to keep the offense flowing.

Midway through the half, Stevenson went on a key run sparked by back-to-back buckets from Myles Jackson, including a three-pointer that extended the lead. The Mustangs continued to capitalize on fast-break opportunities and points in the paint, creating separation as Wilson struggled to keep pace.

Down the stretch, Stevenson stayed poised at both ends of the floor. Defensive stops and timely rebounds limited Wilson's second chances, while the Mustangs converted crucial possessions to maintain control. Jackson led the way offensively, and contributions from across the lineup helped Stevenson close out the seven-point victory.

Myles Jackson finished with a game-high 21 points, while Beaman and Luddy provided steady contributions on both ends of the floor. Stevenson also won the rebounding battle, a key factor in the win.

The Mustangs will now turn their attention to tournament play, as they travel to Huntingdon, Pa., for the Doc Greene Tournament. Stevenson will face Franciscan University on Monday, December 29 at 5:00 p.m. at Huntingdon College.
