Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Albright, Clinches No. 2 Seed in MAC Commonwealth Tournament

Owings Mills, Md. (November 5) - The Stevenson women's volleyball team closed out regular season MAC Commonwealth play in dominant fashion, sweeping Albright 3–0 (25–13, 25–16, 25–17). With the victory, Stevenson clinched the No. 2 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Postseason Tournament and will host No. 3 seeded Messiah.

Set 1:
Stevenson set the tone early, jumping out to an 8–1 lead behind strong serving from Declyn Tooze and powerful swings from Giulia Viglietta. The Mustangs' front line, led by Logan Burge and Maren Zepfel, frustrated the Lions' hitters with timely blocks and pressure at the net. Rachel Lenz delivered a pair of kills to close the frame as Stevenson took the opener, 25–13.

Set 2:
Momentum stayed firmly in the Mustangs' corner in the second set. Tooze served the ball with precision, setting up Lenz and freshman Emma Shaffer for multiple clean kills. Defensively, Viglietta anchored the back row with steady passing, while Sydney Salazar and Lilly Hornickle added energy and finishing power late in the set. Stevenson pulled away to win 25–16 and take a commanding 2–0 match lead.

Set 3:
Albright showed resilience early in the third, but Stevenson's balance proved too much down the stretch. Shaffer continued to dominate at the net, and Tooze added a service ace to spark another Mustang run. Hornickle and Viglietta combined for key points in the final stretch, and Foose's late ace set up match point. Hornickle sealed the sweep with a final kill for the 25–17 victory.

With the win, Stevenson improves to 15–12 overall and 6–1 in MAC Commonwealth play, earning the right to host a conference semifinal match up on Wednesday, November 12, in Owings Mills Gymnasium against the No. 3 seeded Messiah, at 7:00 p.m.
