GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Stevenson women's ice hockey team (0-6-1 overall, 0-4-1 MAC) fell 3-1 to Arcadia (6-0-1 overall, 4-0-1 MAC) on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first period, Arcadia broke through at the 9:48 mark of the second to take a 1-0 lead. Stevenson responded quickly, as Abby Smith capitalized off a faceoff win by Kiana Baker to tie the contest. The Knights answered with two power-play goals, sealing the 3-1 result.
Smith recorded the Mustangs' lone goal, assisted by Baker and Carleigh Barwick. Goaltender Maggie Sehnert turned away 41 shots in a strong performance between the pipes.
Stevenson returns to action on Sunday for the second game of the weekend series at Arcadia, with puck drop scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
