FREDERICK, Md. – The Stevenson women's ice hockey team (0-5-1, 0-3-1 MAC) fell 4-1 to Hood (1-1-2, 1-1-2 MAC) on Saturday night.
Hood opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, but Kira Otto responded with a power-play goal at 11:53 to even the contest at 1-1. The score remained tied until the closing minutes.
In the third period, Hood broke the deadlock with a power-play goal with under three minutes remaining, then added a pair of empty-net tallies to secure the 4-1 victory.
Stevenson held the edge in shots on goal, 38-26. Emily Carson made her first collegiate start for the Mustangs, recording 24 saves. Otto scored the Mustangs' lone goal, with the assist credited to Kiana Baker.
The Mustangs return to action on Saturday, November 22, when they travel to face Arcadia. Puck drop is set for 1:40 p.m.
