Owings Mills, Md. (October 25) – The Stevenson men's soccer team went toe-to-toe with conference rival Messiah on Saturday afternoon, but came up just short in a hard-fought 1-0 loss at Owings Mills East in MAC Commonwealth play.
Messiah capitalized on a first-half opportunity, scoring in the 30th minute for what proved to be the game's only goal. From there, the Mustangs' defense tightened up, anchored by strong efforts from
Tyler Wood,
Jacob Greene, and
Landon Eaton, along with four key saves from goalkeeper
Nolen Olson-Warwick.
Stevenson created several dangerous chances of their own, with
Ellis Amo,
Patrick Caulden, and
Ryan Miller leading the attack. Despite generating momentum and controlling long stretches of the second half, the Mustangs were unable to find the equalizer.
The Mustangs (9-5-2, 3-1-1 MAC Commonwealth) will look to bounce back on Tuesday, October 28 at 7 p.m., when they host Hood for another MAC Commonwealth contest.
