Mustangs play to two-goal draw with Knights

ASTON, Pa. - Mustang Men's Soccer traveled to Neumann University this afternoon for their second road contest of the week. The Mustangs and Knights would go goal for goal, ending with a 2-2 tie.

The first half saw the Mustangs strike a mere nine minutes in as junior Gianfranco Vitella notched his second goal of the season in a solo effort.

Before the first 45 expired, Neumann would knot the game at one.

Stevenson was the first to get on the board in the second half as well. Sophomore Landon Eaton scored on a high shot for his first goal of the season and classmate Ellis Amo-Gottfried earned his first assist as a Mustang in the process.

The Mustangs maintained the lead for only a few minutes before Neumann was able to find the back of the net for the final time.

Vitella led the Mustangs with two shots, followed by Eaton, junior Nick Sirasky, and senior Bryant Seivers with one each.

In net, junior Nolen Olson-Warwick made three saves to back the Mustangs.

With the tie, Stevenson evens out to 1-1-1. Their next contest is scheduled for Wednesday, September 11th at Shenandoah University in Winchester.
