OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Stevenson women's soccer (1-0-1) added their first win of the season against the Delaware Valley University Aggies (0-2) on Wednesday afternoon at East Campus. Despite an early goal by the Aggies, the final score was 3-1.

The Mustangs had two quick shot attempts in the first half before the Aggies got on the board. Junior forward
Kamille Purcell and sophomore midfield
Karly Sheahan made the early game efforts. Just over two minutes after the Aggies' goal, Purcell made another attempt. First-year forward
Madison Simard put the Mustangs in an ideal position with an attempt at almost half an hour into play. The first Mustang goal came minutes later from first-year forward
Lea Ayers. The Mustangs saw two more attempts from junior forward

Brooke Knabe before halftime.

Following an offensively strong beginning to the second half with eight shot attempts by the Mustangs, graduate student defense
Kelly Schultz put the Mustangs in the lead just over an hour into play time. Two attempts followed by senior forward
Ericka Kitzinger, which set her up to score the third and final goal of the night with an assist from graduate student midfielder
Mackenzie Click.

Purcell led the team with five shots (four on goal) on the evening. Kitzinger totaled three shots with all on goal. In goal, first-year
Ava Patterson faced the lone Aggies' goal in all 90 minutes of play.

Mustangs women's soccer will next take on Marymount University in the beginning of a three-game road stretch on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m.
