Rytina scores as Mustangs draw with Yellow Jackets

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson Women's Soccer hosted Randolph-Macon College this evening on the East Campus. A scoreless first half gave way to a Stevenson goal, but the visiting Yellow Jackets were able to secure the equalizer in the game's final minutes for a 1-1 final.

Randolph-Macon had the upper hand offensively in the first half, totaling eight shots opposed to Stevenson's four.

In net, sophomore Alison Halstead made six saves in the first 45 alone, adding another four in the second to finish the night with ten saves. Through five games played so far this season, Halstead boasts 37 saves and a 1.02 goals against average.

Sophomore Madison Rytina was the first player of the night to get on the board, striking at the 64-minute mark. The goal was her third of the season and junior Courtney Keehner earned the assist, which was also her third on the year.

Randolph-Macon would return the favor with just over eight minutes to go, forcing the Mustangs' second tie of the season.

In addition to Rytina, Karly Sheahan, Julyana Medina, and Colleen Fanning each contributed shots on goal. The Yellow Jackets' Erin Morris finished with five saves.

The Mustangs return to action at East this Saturday, September 28th for senior day. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. against Washington College (Md.).
