OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson women's soccer (2-3-1) added their second win of the season against the Shenandoah University Hornets (2-3-1) on a busy Wednesday evening at East Campus. The final score was 2-1 with the lead arriving in the second half.
The Hornets managed two shots out top to kick off the first half. Within two minutes into action, sophomore midfield
Karly Sheahan attempted a shot at goal. Scoring within the first five minutes of play, the Mustangs made it 1-0 off the foot of junior midfield

Courtney Keehner. Following the first and only goal from Hornets athlete senior forward Mya Rolinson, the Mustangs found four more attempts with the first of four saved by the Hornets' defense. The score was tied 1-1 at halftime.
Responding to three attempts by the Hornets, Sheahan attempted in the bottom center just before 60 minutes into play. As the clock counted down, the Hornets found six attempts before sophomore defense
Colleen Fanning made a shot out right with less than 10 minutes left. With exactly six minutes left, Sheahan scored the game-winning goal with an assist from junior forward
Kamille Purcell. The Hornets found their last attempt 12 seconds later, but the Mustangs kept them at bay until the end.
In all 90 minutes, Sheahan totaled three shots with two on goal. Gerbes added a pair of shots and one on goal. In the net was sophomore
Alison Halstead who made 11 saves on the evening.
The Mustangs next take on the Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen on the road on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m.
