OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson Men's Soccer hosted Elizabethtown College this afternoon in a non-conference matchup. A scoreless first half gave way to a scoring surge by the Blue Jays, giving them a 3-0 win.
The first half ended with an even four shots and one save on each side. Stevenson's shot on goal came from junior Patrick Caulden and classmate Nolen Olson-Warwick made the stop for the Mustangs.
Olson-Warwick was tried twice as much in the second half, facing nine shots and adding two more saves. For the Mustangs, sophomore Ellis Amo-Gottfried supplied the hosts' lone shot on goal. Amo-Gottfried led Stevenson with three shots, followed by Caulden, PJ Cera, Gianfranco Vitella, Brian Rogowski, and Zack Byas with one shot each.
Elizabethtown finished with 14 fouls as opposed to Stevenson's eight, but Stevenson edged Elizabethtown 4-3 for corners.
The loss puts the Mustangs at 1-3-1 heading into their next contest, which is set for Wednesday, September 18th against Marymount University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the East Campus.
