WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Stevenson men's tennis team opened up its fall season with an 8-1 setback to host Catholic.
Honour Zan picked up the lone win for the Mustangs in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-4.Â
Simeon Smith and
Luke Appleman opened up play with a hard-fought 7-6 defeat in No. 1 doubles, while Zan and
Garrett Warren fell by a 7-4 score in No. 2.
Appleman overcame a one-set deficit in No. 1 singles, but would drop his match in a 10-6 tie-breaking third set.  Smith and Warren fell in their No. 2 and 4 matches by scores of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-4, 6-4.Â
