CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team won its season opener on Friday night, taking down Rutgers-Camden 3-0 in the first day of the DeSales University quad.
Set scores were 26-24, 25-14 and 25-12.
The win also marked the first collegiate head coaching win for new coach
Emma Lorenzen.
Kylie DesLauriers had a strong opening game as she had 12 kills to go along with three aces and ten digs.
Maren Zepfel had six kills on the evening with
Rachel Lenz getting fice.
Lilly Hornickle had five blocks, with Zepfel and Lenz each getting two.
Makala Thompson had 17 assists with
Samantha Simmers netting 12.
Nicolette Fuglestad had 13 digs with
Makala Thompson getting 11.
Stevenson will take on Brockport and host DeSales University tomorrow in Day Two of the Quad.
