STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team improved to 4-0 in MAC Commonwealth play after taking down visiting York by a 6-3 score at the
Greenspring Courts.
Larry Johnson III - who was just named MAC Player of the Week after going 4-0 - alongside
Simeon Smith won in No. 1 doubles by an 8-5 score to improve their record to 7-3. Sathwik
Madasi and
Garrett Warren took down their No. 2 opponents, 8-2, which put them over .500 for the season.
Honour Zan and
Dominic Duncan dropped a close match in No. 3, 8-6.
Johnson would then go on to pick up his seventh singles win of the year by a score of 6-0, 6-3 in No. 1, while Smith took down his opponent in No. 3, 6-4, 0-6, 6-1. Smith is now 5-5 on the season.
Zan and Duncan both won their matches by the same 6-2, 6-2 score. Zan and Duncan have records of 6-1 and 3-4, respectively.
Stevenson (5-7, 4-0 MACC) will look to keep their winning streak going in a road match against Messiah and Thursday, April 25 at 3:30 p.m.
