Softball clipped by Scranton, Mississippi University for Women on Day Two in South Carolina

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Stevenson University softball team dropped a pair of games on Monday afternoon during Day Two of the Spring Break Trip.
 
In the opener, Stevenson lost to Scranton 8-2 then was doubled up by the Mississippi University for Women 4-2.

After spotting Scranton a 5-0 lead in the first, Stevenson got one back in the first as Rebecca Henry scored on an error.
 
In the third, Henry scored her second run of the game on a single by Danielle Mills.
 
Maddie Bosley finished with three hits, while Mills had two.
 
Lindsey Tolle took the loss, giving up five runs in .2 of an inning, while Ky Vaughn struck out two in 5.1 innings of work.
 
Mississippi University for Women 4, Stevenson 2
In the second game, Stevenson took a 2-0 lead after two as Rebecca Maiorano scored on a RBI groundout by Caylee Cliett. Tessa Boswell then hit a RBI single that scored Ava Stafursky.
 
MUW scored three times in the fifth and one time in the sixth to take the win.
 
Cliett, Bosley and Boswell each finished with a hit, while Bosley had a double.
 
Grace Briggs went the distance, allowed three earned runs in six innings of work.
 
Stevenson takes on Oswego State and William Peace on Wednesday.
