FREDERICK, Md. – The Stevenson University men's basketball team kept pace with MAC Commonwealth leading Hood on Wednesday night, before the Blazers (19-3, 9-2 MAC Commonwealth) defeated the Mustangs (8-14, 2-9 MAC Commonwealth) 94-86.
Stevenson trailed by only four at halftime (45-41) and got to within three at 68-65 but could not get any closer.
Rasheed Cooley poured in a game-high 28 points on 8-for-16 shooting including a 6-for-10 performance from the three-point line.
Cameron Smith had 13 points with
Nate Arrington getting 12 and
Ryan Newell adding in ten.
As a team, the Mustangs converted on 47.6 percent of their shots (30-for-63) and sank 11 three pointers on 24 attempts.
Smith grabbed eight rebounds with Newell getting five. Cooley also had three steals on the night.
Stevenson hosts Albright on Saturday.
