OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team clinched a spot in the upcoming Commonwealth Conference playoffs on Wednesday night, as the Mustangs (13-13, 4-3 MAC CC) defeated Widener (17-11, 3-4 MAC CC) 3-0.
With the win, the Mustang earned the fourth seed in the upcoming playoffs and will travel to top seed Messiah next Wednesday night.
Set scores were 25-14, 25-18 and 25-12.
In their final home match of the season, the Mustangs sizzled hitting .336 (50-12-113) including an 18-4-40 mark (.350) in the first set.
Rachel Lenz had a match-high 16 kills, with
Zakara Masibo and
Sydney Salazar each with ten.
Lenz and
Nicolette Fuglestad each had three aces on the night, with Zepfel, Masibo and
Lilly Hornickle each having one block.
Makala Thompson had 24 assists with
Courtney Foose adding in 13.
Defensively, Fuglestad had 13 digs with Thompson getting 11.
Stevenson heads to Susquehanna for the weekend, with matches against William Smith, Rochester and the host River Hawks.
