READING, Pa. – The Stevenson women's soccer squad defeated the Alvernia Golden Wolves, 3-1, as
Karly Sheahan netted a hat-trick, on Saturday afternoon.
Alvernia opened up scoring in the 28
th minute of the match-up, as the Golden Wolves battled to keep the 1-0 lead heading into the half.
Sheahan put her first goal of the contest away in the 57
th minute off a ball from
Madison Rytina. In the 67
thminute, Sheahan put away an unassisted goal and about two minutes later, netted a third off a ball from
Kayla Gerbes.
Karly Sheahan led the shots on goal column with five, as
Kamille Purcell followed with two. Gerbes dished out two shots on goal.
Alison Halstead stood in goal for the Mustangs, making three saves on the afternoon.
The Mustangs will prepare for postseason play as they travel to No. 1 seed, Messiah, in Grantham, Pa. on Wednesday. Kick off time will be announced when scheduled.
