Football drops home finale to FDU-Florham, 34-19

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – FDU-Florham quarterback Ryon Thomas threw for four touchdowns and rushed for another as the Devils (6-2, 5-2 MAC) defeated Stevenson (4-4, 4-3) 34-19 in football action on a warm Saturday afternoon.
 
Thomas threw for 216 yards and rushed for 89 in the win.
 
Stevenson got 86 yards rushing from Edward Emmons while Nyaire Wilson threw for 223 yards and two scores. Wilson was 16-for-32 in the air. Deion Richardson caught six passes for 116 yards and a score, while Dillion Johnson had four catches for 26 yards.
 
Defensively, Clarence Travis had a team and game high 11 tackles for Stevenson, with Anthony Russo getting eight.
 
FDU-Florham took an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter as Thomas threw a 12-yard scoring pass to Anthony Bilotta with 4:54 left.
 
Stevenson would answer back as Emmens rushed for 32 yards out, getting the Mustangs within one at 7-6 as the extra point was blocked with 13:35 left to go in the first half. Thomas threw his second TD pass of the day to Alexander Galarza from 4 yards out with 8:47 left to give the Devils a 13-6 lead.
 
Stevenson would tie the score with 6:01 left as Wilson threw a 59-yard scoring pass to Richardson and tied the score at 13-all. However, FDU-Florham would get one final score in before the half, driving down and scoring with just one second left and a 19-13 halftime lead. The score was a 2-yard pass from Thomas to Bilotta.
 
The Devils went up 27-13 with 9:07 left in the third as Thomas rushed for 58 yards, before Wilson threw a 43-yard scoring pass to Kyle Guerreiro with 7:55 left to get the Mustangs within eight at 27-19.
 
FDU-Florham went up 34-19 as Thomas threw a 10-yard pass to Adrian Reese with 1:18 left in the quarter, accounting for the final score of the afternoon.
 
Stevenson heads to Wilkes Barre in back-to-back weeks, starting with a trip to Misericordia on Saturday.
