OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson field hockey team fell to Alvernia 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. Following the contest, the team took a moment to recognize their senior class.
The Mustangs dominated offensively in the first half of the match, with five shots in the first quarter, and seven in the second. In the second half, the Mustangs were out shot 3-2.
Alvernia put the lone goal away against Stevenson with under three minutes to play in the overtime period to take the 1-0 win over the Mustangs.
Emma Gladstein lead the shots on goal column with five, and
Monica Druckemiller followed with three. Jordan Vrandenburgh made two saves in cage for Stevenson.
The Mustangs will prepare to travel to York, Pa. on Wednesday to face the No. 2 seeded York College (Pa.) Spartans in the MAC Commonwealth post-season. Start time of the contest will be announced once scheduled.
