Parillo, Karlsson score in 2-0 victory over Misericordia

REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Stevenson Men's Hockey hosted MAC opponent Misericordia University tonight at the Reisterstown Sportsplex. The Mustangs would score in both the first and last 30 seconds of the game to come away with a 2-0 conference win.

Off of the opening draw, Stevenson gained possession as senior defensemen Aidan Graham and Evan Beers fed the puck to first year Gage Parillo, who quickly put the puck away to give the Mustangs the advantage. The goal was Parillo's second on the year while the assists were Graham's first and Beers' second.

Stevenson dominated the game offensively in the first two periods, forcing Misericordia's Jacob Perrin to make 15 and 25 saves.

Misericordia did not outshoot Stevenson until the third, in which they fired off ten shots. Junior netminder Ford DeLoss stopped all ten to prevent a Cougars comeback, adding 16 more stops from the first two periods for 26 on the night.

In a last-ditch effort for Misericordia, Perrin was pulled and Stevenson capitalized immediately thanks to Jack Karlsson. The junior blueliner leads all Mustangs in points so far this season with six (3 G, 3 A).

In the circle, first year Aiden Lindley led the game with 11 victories, followed by seniors Graeme McCrory with seven and Dylan Florit with six.

The victory puts the Mustangs back in the win column, bringing them to 4-1 on the season and 2-1 in the MAC. They look to complete the sweep tomorrow afternoon when they face off against the Cougars once again at 3 p.m.
