NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its 2024 Commonwealth All-Conference selections. Stevenson boasts six honorees in this year's awards, headlined by graduate student attack Emma Gladstein and third year head coach Morgan Bitting.
Emma Gladstein earned her second straight MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Year award after another prolific season. Gladstein started all 20 games for the Mustangs, racking up 20 goals and nine assists for 49 points. Of her 20 goals, six were game-winners. She finished her final season at the top of the conference for goals, game-winning goals, points, shots (95), and shots on goal (69).
Joining Gladstein in the major awards category is head coach Morgan Bitting, who rewrote program history this season several times over. The Mustangs began their 2024 campaign 9-0-1, marking the best start in program history by a seven-game margin. Bitting led Stevenson to a 1-0 penalty shootout victory over then eighth-ranked York College (Pa.) to begin MACC play, and the Mustangs consequently earned their first ever ranking. Stevenson was ranked as high as 22nd via the NFHCA and 10th via FieldHockeyCorner.com's RPI this season under Bitting's guidance.
Gladstein earned the lone Stevenson spot on the All-MAC first team.
Four Mustangs earned Second Team bids, including Jordan Vradenburgh, Shae Bennett, Monica Druckemiller, and Haley Palmer.
Vradenburgh started 19 games for the Mustangs, tallying 78 saves for a 0.99 goals against average and a 0.821 save percentage. Her season highlights include a 12-save shutout against Mary Washington as well a 21-save week against No. 2 Salisbury, No. 4 Johns Hopkins, and No. 8 York.
Bennett started all 20 games in her first season with the Mustangs, providing four goals and five assists for 13 points. Her goals against Hood and Eastern were game-winners, and she finished the season with 11 shots on goal.
Druckemiller also started every contest this season at midfield, playing 897 minutes and contributing three goals and one assist for seven points.
Palmer logged 1,048 minutes on the season as a defender, but also notched four goals and nine points. She netted the lone goal against Albright to give the Mustangs their 14th win of the season and assisted on Ellie Bailey's game-winner over Widener.
The Mustangs finished 14-5-1 on the season and 5-2 in conference.Â
