SALISBURY, Md. - Stevenson Women's Soccer traveled to Salisbury University this afternoon for their final non-conference matchup of the regular season. Though the Mustangs scored first, Salisbury was quick to come back and pull ahead, maintaining their lead throughout the rest of the game.
Graduate student Kelly Schultz would net her second goal of the season just 18 minutes in, capitalizing on a Stevenson corner kick.
Stevenson's lead lasted just 23 seconds, as Salisbury scored right off of the kickoff. Building on the momentum brought about by the game-tying goal, the Sea Gulls scored again nine minutes later, which would prove to be the game-winner.
Stevenson finished with ten shots, provided by Schultz, classmate Mackenzie Click, junior Kamille Purcell, sophomore Karly Sheahan, and first years Greta Sue Hanson and Laurel Hutchins.
In net, sophomore Alison Halstead made seven saves, five of which came in the second half. Halstead totals 56 stops so far this season.
The Mustangs fall to 2-6-4 overall but look to get back in the win column upon their return to MACC play on Saturday. Stevenson travels to Widener for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, then returns to the East Campus on Saturday, October 19th for homecoming and their Breast Cancer Awareness game against Albright.
