READING, Pa. - Stevenson Field Hockey traveled to Albright College this evening for a MAC Commonwealth matchup. After three scoreless quarters, the Mustangs found the back of the net early in the fourth to notch their 14th victory of the season.
Stevenson notched seven shots in the first half and six in the second. First year Ollie Winterle faced two shots in her first collegiate start, but neither landed on net.
Senior Haley Palmer would eliminate the need for overtime thanks to her goal just one minute and 35 seconds into the fourth quarter. Palmer found the back of the net for the fourth time this season after a penalty corner insertion by sophomore Lauren Schulz.Â
In addition to Palmer's offensive efforts, graduate student Emma Gladstein led the Mustangs with seven shots, five of which were on frame. Juniors Annie Ingersoll and Brenna Benson as well as first year Coco Wallace each registered a shot on goal.
The shutout victory brings the Mustangs to 14-3-1 overall and 5-1 in MAC Commonwealth play. Stevenson will conclude their regular season on Saturday, November 2nd on the East Campus with a senior day celebration and matchup against Alvernia University.
