Mustangs drop one-goal contest to Eagles

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson Women's Soccer hosted Eastern University tonight in a MAC Commonwealth contest. A first half goal by the Eagles would prove sufficient as Eastern served Stevenson their first conference loss of the season.

Stevenson and Eastern both had several scoring opportunities early in the game with shots on goal coming from the Mustangs' Ericka Kitzinger and Mackenzie Click.

Eastern was awarded a free kick 25 minutes into the match, and the cross was headed and redirected before finding its way into the back of the Stevenson net.

The Mustangs doubled their shot count in the second half, finishing with eight. Of those eight, the shots provided by Greta Sue Hanson, Kelly Schultz, and Brooke Knabe were on frame.

In net, Alison Halstead made two stops, both of which came in the latter half.

The Mustangs stand at 4-7-4 overall and 2-1-1 in MAC Commonwealth play. Their next conference contest takes them to Messiah University on Saturday, October 26th for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
