SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Stevenson Men's Soccer took on Susquehanna University tonight on the road. The Mustangs struck first, but the Riverhawks were quick to erase the deficit, resulting in a 1-1 non-conference tie.
Sophomore newcomer Ellis Amo-Gottfried got the Mustangs on the board 22 minutes in, marking his first goal as a Mustang. Senior Joey Brauer was credited with the assist on the play, accounting for his third of the season.
Amo-Gottfried led the Mustangs with two out of Stevenson's four shots on goal, with the remaining pair of shots coming from juniors Patrick Caulden and Gianfranco Vitella.Â
Susquehanna mustered three shots on goal and nine shots total. Junior goalkeeper Nolen Olson-Warwick made one save to bring his season total up to 39.
The 2-4-4 Mustangs begin conference play with their next matchup, scheduled for Saturday, October 5th at Hood College. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. in nearby Frederick.
