OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom leading Stevens took a 3-0 decision over Stevenson on Saturday in a MAC women's volleyball crossover match.
Set scores were 25-13, 25-16 and 25-16.
For Stevenson,
Giulia Viglietta had eight kills with
Zakara Masibo having five.
Rachel Lenz added in four.
At the net,
Kylie DesLauriers had three blocks along with Masibo.
Makala Thompson had 15 assists, with
Courtney Foose getting six.
Nicolette Fuglestad had 13 digs in the loss.
In the first set, Stevenson led 5-4 early on a kill from Lenz. Stevens would score four straight to go up 8-5, taking the lead for good. The Mustangs would not get two the rest of the way.
The second set saw the Ducks jump out to a 10-3 lead before Stevenson got back within four at 10-6 as Viglietta and Salazar had kills during the run. That would be the closest Stevenson would get the rest of the way.
Stevenson had a 6-2 lead in the third set as Fuglestad had a service ace and led by as much as five at 12-7, before the Ducks broke open a 15-all tie with three straight points.
The Mustangs will host Alvernia on Tuesday.
