WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Stevenson Women's Ice Hockey faced off against Wilkes in game two of their regular-season series tonight. The Mustangs struck first early in the game, but the Colonels would eventually take over offensive control and finish the game with a 6-1 win.
First year Carleigh Barwick scored just 11 minutes into the game, citing an assist from classmate Emma DeMan. The goal is Barwick's team-leading sixth of the season and DeMan's assist marks her third.
Senior center Cassie Campbell won a team-high eight draws tonight, followed by DeMan with seven. DeMan also led the Mustangs with four shots on goal, trailed by classmate Abby Smith with three. Barwick and sophomore Meghan Croyle contributed two shots apiece.
Smith topped Stevenson for blocked shots with three as Barwick, senior Emily Brightbill, junior Maddie Silverman, and sophomore Kendall Girnt each logged two.
In net, junior Olivia DeGuire made 29 stops.
In the Mustangs' next series, they will face Arcadia University for UCHC and MAC points. Game one is set to be played on Arcadia's turf on Friday, January 26th and Saturday's Senior Day matchup is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Reisterstown Sportsplex.
