OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team opened its MAC Commonwealth slate on Wednesday night with a 3-0 win over Albright, moving the Mustangs (9-3, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) to six.
Set scores were 25-9, 25-18 and 25-12.
The Mustangs never trailed in the match against the Lions (8-2, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) and hit .291 (41-9-110) as a team.
A balanced attack saw 13 players record kills, with
Darian Dildy netting a game-high ten on 12 attempts with just one error (.750).
Giulia Viglietta had six kills, with
Maren Zepfel and
Rileigh Kimball each getting four.
Samantha Simmers had 17 assists, with
Makala Thompson adding in 15. Thompson also had four service aces, with
Haley Hoover getting three. As a team, the Mustangs had nine service aces with Albright only having one.
Defensively,
Kayla Vaeth had 18 digs, with
Claire Thompson getting 11.
Nicolette Fuglestad, Kimball and Viglietta each had six.
Stevenson steps out of conference play on Saturday, traveling to Elizabethtown before heading up to Messiah on Tuesday for a key MAC Commonwealth matchup.
