Field Hockey dominates for first win of the season over Sewanee

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Field Hockey hosted Sewanee this afternoon at Owings Mills East. Coming off of a 1-0 loss yesterday to Washington College (Md.), the Mustangs showed their skills early and often.

The scoring rally began with sophomore Annie Ingersoll, who found the back of the net with help from senior Emma Gladstein.

Gladstein would lend a hand next to classmate Meghan Huey, who scored just three minutes after Ingersoll. Senior Rylee Leakway was credited with the secondary assist after receiving Gladstein's penalty corner pass.

With less than one minute left in the quarter, Gladstein would net her first of the season with sophomore Brenna Benson supplying the assist.

First-year Emma Hittle scored her first collegiate goal as the only statistic of the second quarter. Classmate Monica Druckemiller earned her first collegiate assist in the effort.

Rylee Leakway started the third quarter with a goal of her own, with assists going to Emma Gladstein for her third assist and fifth point of the day as well as first-year Lauren Schulz for her first collegiate point.

Annie Ingersoll followed with her second on the day, which also gave Lauren Schulz her second assist.

Senior Macy Kosanovich rounded out the third quarter in a solo effort before first-year Abry Klinger scored off of a feed from classmate Anna Zadel.

All three goalkeepers recorded a save apiece today, with senior Eve Vickery and first-year Reagan Wildasin each saw 15 minutes and first-year Jordan Vradenburgh played 30.

With the win, the Mustangs even out on the season at 1-1. They have the opportunity to add another pair of wins at McDaniel on September 6th and at home on Tuesday, September 12 against Virginia Wesleyan.
