Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. - Stevenson Field Hockey extended their win streak to two games this evening at neighboring McDaniel College. With a goal in each of the second and third quarters, the Mustangs come home with a 2-0 victory.
Senior Rylee Leakway scored both goals for the Mustangs tonight and classmate Emma Gladstein assisted on both. The pair of scores came off penalty corners taken by Gladstein, which were swiftly converted into on-target shots by Leakway. The Mustangs' first goal came at 28:46, with the insurance goal being added at 40:10.
Leakway adds another four points to her season stats, leaving her (3 G, 1 A) and Gladstein (1 G, 5 A) tied at the top in points with seven.
Shots on goal were contributed by Leakway (3), Gladstein (1), and fellow senior Macy Kosanovich (1).
Senior goalkeeper Eve Vickery started her third consecutive game, making one save across 45 minutes of play before first-year Jordan Vradenburgh entered for the final 15, making one save herself. The shutout is Stevenson's second of the year, and Vickery holds both wins.
The Mustangs are not back in action until Tuesday, September 12th at 3 PM when they host Virginia Wesleyan University to start a busy week. Wednesday the 13th, Stevenson travels to Cedar Crest College before returning to Owings Mills East for a 12 PM matchup with Bridgewater College on Saturday the 16th.
