OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson Field Hockey opened their season this evening against Washington College (Md.) at Owings Mills East. After a scoreless 52 minutes, the Shorewomen scored the lone goal of the contest.

Senior transfer Eve Vickery stood strong in her Stevenson debut, making seven saves in goal. The lone goal against was a result of a deflection.
In front of Vickery, first-year Lauren Schulz made two saves of her own while classmate Sarah Bisson and senior Meghan Huey contributed one block each.
Offensively, seniors Emma Gladstein and Macy Kosanovich as well as sophomore Emilie Rankin each contributed one shot on goal.
The Mustangs look to bounce back tomorrow in their first meeting with Sewanee, scheduled for a 4 PM start at Owings Mills East. In today's contest between Sewanee and Goucher, the Gophers downed the Tigers 3-1. Last season's matchup between the Mustangs and Gophers saw a 4-0 victory for Stevenson.
