Mustangs Prevail In Battle Against Lancaster Bible 10-8

Lancaster, Pa. – Stevenson baseball came out on top over Lancaster Bible College 10-8 in a close battle on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs improve to 17-13 overall, while Lancaster Bible falls to 11-20. Dylan Young earned his second win of the season, pitching the first two innings.

Nick Tamberino sent out a sacrifice fly to right field to score Amani Jones in the first inning. Another run came across for Stevenson as Jones reached on an error, scoring Young in the second. 

Lancaster Bible got on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the second.

With the bases full of Mustangs in the third, Young walked, driving in Tommy Holcomb. Trevor Smoot then sent out a sacrifice fly to center to drive in Tamberino. 

Holcomb singled up the middle to score Brandon Perillo in the fourth, making it 5-1 Mustangs.

After the Chargers scored a pair of runs, Tamberino doubled to center field in the seventh, driving in Holcomb. Lancaster's Greenly hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the inning. 

Billy McAdam pitch-hit for Alex Russo and singled to right field, sending home Smoot. Perillo then laid down a bunt to score Sears who pitch-ran for McAdam.

After a pair of Charger runs, Dylan Scott reached on an error and eventually scoring Collin Palmieri in the ninth. 

Christian Pellegrino earned his second save on the year, striking out two batters in the ninth.

The Mustangs return to MAC conference play on Friday and Saturday, first traveling to Alvernia on April 21, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
