Tamberino Smashes Two Homers in 24-3 Win Over Albright

Owings Mills, Md. - The Stevenson University baseball team defeated MACC opponent Albright College 24-3 on Friday afternoon.

Brady Power earned his second win this season after coming in out of the bullpen to throw six hitless innings. The Mustang's record improves to 14-13 and 8-8 in the MACC.

Albright started the first inning off with a 3-0 lead, but the Mustangs quickly matched that when up to bat. A triple to left center by Dylan Scott sent Trent Smoot, Dylan Young, and Jonathan Brandt home.

The third inning brought in six total runs for Stevenson. Junior Nick Tamberino homered, also scoring Amani Jones. Trent Smoot then singled down the infield line, which brought Young and Brandt home for the score of 8-3. Two more runs were scored when Alex Russo singled then advanced all the way home off an error by the Lion's center fielder.

In the sixth, Tamberino hit his second home run of the game, bringing the score to 12-3. Then, Young tripled to the left center, bringing home Billy McAdam.

In the seventh inning, the Mustangs scored three total runs. Starting with a Brandon Perillo single through the right side which brought Scott home. Shortly after, Jones singled to left field and scored Russo. Then, Brandt doubled to the left field and sent Perillo through to home.

Finally, in the eighth inning, senior Elliott Schilpp doubled down the infield line scoring Graham Sears for the final score of the game to be 24-3.

Coming up next for the Mustangs, they will take on Albright again Sunday in a doubleheader at 12 and 3 p.m. in Reading, Pa. Then, on Tuesday, they will battle nonconference opponent Lancaster Bible College at 3:30 p.m. in Lancaster, PA.
