STEVENSON, Md. - The Stevenson men's tennis team improved to 6-4 overall and 3-0 in MAC Commonwealth play after cruising to a 7-2 victory at the Greenspring Tennis Courts.
Larry Johnson III and
JJ Bonta opened up play with an 8-4 win in No. 1 doubles - giving them six wins on the year.
Lukas Sanidas and
Chad Smialek picked up their third-straight win in No. 2 by an 8-6 score.
Johnson overcame a one-set deficit to take his No. 1 singles match, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2, for his seventh singles win on the year. Bonta also came back from one set to win his No. 2 match, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, which gives him six victories thus far.
Sanidas won his third straight in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Sathwik Madasi dropped the first set in his match before coming back to earn his third-straight win, 0-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).
Smialek won in No. 5 singles in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
Simeon Smith dropped a tough three-set match, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5.
Stevenson will look to remain undefeated in conference play when they host Alvernia on Friday, April 14 at 2 p.m.
