OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson women's lacrosse (3-7, 1-0) hosted the Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen (3-7,0-2) in the start of Middle Atlantic Conference play, ending in an 18-4 decision, making this the third win for the Mustangs.

FIRST QUARTER
Following an early attempt, the Mustangs got on the board swiftly with a goal just under three minutes into action. The Dutchmen tied the game at 1-1 just over two minutes later. Pushing for the lead, Yarusso scored her first goal of the afternoon with 6:44 on the clock. Coccia followed just under a minute later, making the score 3-1. The Mustangs allowed one more goal from the visitors before Yarusso added her second goal with one second remaining. The score in the opening period was then 4-2.
SECOND QUARTER
Following a denied attempt thanks to Shucosky, Coccia added one just under four minutes into play. VanEmburgh followed about a minute later off a free position. Offensively, the Mustangs scored eight goals in the second quarter and ended the first half on top with a 10-point, 12-2 lead. Defensively, Shucosky totaled four saves at the break.
THIRD QUARTER
Wasting no time, the Mustangs scored again just under a minute in. First year attack/midfield
Marisa Massimini added her fourth goal of the season. Yarusso totaled two goals in the third while Coccia added another. Scoring four times, the Mustangs also denied two attempts from the Flying Dutchmen, bringing the score to 16-2 as the third ended.
FOURTH QUARTER
The Flying Dutchmen scored twice in the final period, with the first arriving just over two minutes into action. Yarusso and Zimmer added two more for the Mustangs before the visitors scored once more with 2:01 remaining. The Mustangs finished with the final 18-4 decision.
NUMBERS AND NOTES
- Yarusso nearly broke the record in single-game goals. The current record is nine, which is held by Leah Warner, Krissy Busse, and Caroline Murphy in a three-way tie.
- Bailey Krahl totaled three assists on four shots, all on goal.
- This is Coccia's and VanEmbugh's fourth game this season where they have each scored at least three goals.
- Following this game, Shucosky now needs 25 more saves to break seventh place record holder for total career saves.
