ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Stevenson men's lacrosse team (4-6) slotted a 22-7 win over the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen on Saturday afternoon.
Justin Tepper wasted no time getting the Mustangs on the board, as he netted an unassisted goal 50 seconds into the match up. The Dutchmen replied about a minute later, but Mustangs followed with five straight goals.
Shane Ford put up his first goal of the contest at 9:40, as
Robbie Vanderklugt followed at 8:18. Less than a minute later,
Jack Scaliti netted a fourth goal on the board for Stevenson. At 5:40, Ford put away another goal with an assist from
Grant Zick, as
Ryan Coleman put one away off a ball from Scaliti at 3:57 for a 6-1 game. Lebanon Valley then retaliated with a fast break goal at 3:42, but
Cam Leydig and Coleman each slotted unassisted goals to take an 8-2 lead going into the second quarter.
The Dutchmen opened scoring on the second quarter with a goal at 12:55 and was the only goal they put up all quarter as the Mustangs put away five more. At 10:00, Leydig grabbed a goal with an assist from
Dillion Linhardt and less than a minute later
Andrew Searing put a goal away for a 10-3 lead. Zick then joined the goals column with an unassisted goal at 7:28, as
Ed Masterson notched a man-up goal at 6:01. At 4:39, Masterson put up a second goal off a ball from Coleman to slot the 13-3 lead going into halftime.
The Mustangs started off the second half with four-straight goals against LVC. Leydig put a third goal away off another Coleman assist in 14:31. At 11:33, Matt Bryon put away his first goal of the season, and less than a minute later Zick put up an unassisted goal. Leydig followed with his fourth goal of the game with another assist from Coleman at 10:16. The Dutchmen then put up two goals, but
Ryan Quinn netted a man-up goal followed by a goal from Coleman. With 1:59 remaining in the third quarter,
Jered Monar put away a goal off a ball from Tepper to grab a 20-5 lead at the end of the quarter.
The fourth quarter started off with a goal at 14:12 from
Jack McKenna. Lebanon Valley then netted two more goals at 12:11 and 7:06, but
Luke Wetzel put away one last goal for Stevenson a 22-7 victory.
Coleman had a six-point afternoon with three goals and three assists, as Leydig put away four goals. Zick put up a three-point game with two goals and an assist, as Ford and Masterson slotted two goals and nine other Mustangs put one goal up.
Justin Bordner was a huge asset on the face off winning 15-24.

The Mustangs will return home to Mustang Stadium to face Albright College on Wednesday, Apr. 5 at 7 p.m.
