Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Stevenson University men's volleyball team began a two-day, three-match swing in Virginia on Friday night with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of tenth-ranked Southern Virginia.
Set scores were 25-13, 25-10, with the third set ending 33-31 in favor of the Knights (15-2).
For Stevenson (10-15), the Mustangs were led by Tim Flanagan who had eight kills with Aidan O'Brien netting seven. Justin Novoa had 18 assists, with Michael Dougherty getting 19 digs.
After dropping the first two sets, Stevenson matched the Knights point for point in the third set, taking 23-22 lead on a service error. The Mustangs forced nine ties, before the Knights took the last two points of the match at 33-31.
Stevenson will take on Roanoke and Randolph-Macon on Saturday.
