OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson women's lacrosse team (0-2) opened their home campaign Saturday afternoon against the No. 5-ranked Gettysburg College Bullets (1-0), resulting in a 15-5 decision for the visitors.

Isabelle VanEmburgh also added her first goal of the season. The Mustangs found 14 shot opportunities, tallied 16 saves to the Bullets' four, and executed eight successful draw controls.
FIRST QUARTER
Looking for an early scoring opportunity, the Mustangs had a pair of off-target attempts just over a minute into play. The first Gettysburg goal arrived with 8:51 remaining. Yarusso added a turnover just under a minute later, but could not break the visitors' defense. The second Bullets goal arrived about halfway into the quarter. SECOND QUARTER
With the Bullets scoring early on, the Mustangs had their first goal just over two minutes into the second quarter. Shucosky added a pair of saves and at the halfway point, Yarusso found another opportunity, just wide of the net. As the Bullets scored their sixth goal, the Mustangs attempted another, which was saved with 4:46 remaining. The half ended 8-1 in Gettysburg's favor following a saved attempt from sophomore defense

THIRD QUARTER
After Gettysburg scored their ninth goal early on, the Mustangs found their second opportunity minutes later, talllying the second goal on a Hunter shot. Before the end of the quarter, Yarusso added her first goal of two and her second goal of the season with just over a minute remaining. Friedman saw an opportunity with seconds remaining but was just off-target. The quarter ended 12-3.
FOURTH QUARTER
Krahl added her first career goal in the final quarter about five minutes in following a goal from the Bullets. Unable to find many shooting opportunities, the Mustangs scored once more with Yarusso's second goal at 50 seconds remaining, just before the Bullets' margin got to 10 points in he 15-5 decision.

The Mustangs fall to 0-2 overall while the Bullets add their first win at 1-0. The Mustangs hit the road as they travel to Washington College of Maryland on Saturday, Feb. 25, for a 4 p.m. start. The Bullets travel to Mustangs' conference opponent Messiah University on Wednesday, Feb. 22 for a 4 p.m. matchup.
