GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Stevenson (8-15-1 Overall, 6-13-1 UCHC) women's ice hockey team fell 3-1 to the Arcadia Knights on Saturday afternoon.
Olivia DeGuire made 41 stops in goal for the Mustangs.
The Knights put away two goals in the first period back-to-back at 7:08 and 8:59 to take a 2-0 lead over Stevenson going into the second period. In the second period, both teams battled, but the Mustangs were able to make it a 2-1 game. At 5:51,
Gracie Payne notched a power play goal with assists from
Meghan Croyle and
Karly Aguirre. In the third period. Arcadia slotted a power play goal to make it a 3-1 game. Despite all offensive efforts from the Mustangs, Arcadia walked with the 3-1 win.
The Mustangs clinched a slot in the UCHC Championship Tournament, landing in the eighth seed. The team will travel to No. 1 seed, Nazareth, on Wednesday. Game time is to be announced.
