REISTERSTOWN, Md. – The Stevenson women's ice hockey squad took time before tonight's match up against Manhattanville to recognize their senior class;
Ashlyn Bray,
Karly Aguirre,
KaliJo Zagula, and
Tea Ferrara.
Stevenson (8-13-1, 6-10-1 UCHC, 3-5-1 MAC) dropped in a tough 3-2 decision to the Valiants on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs opened scoring at 3:21 with a power play goal from
Cassie Campbell with assists from Bray and Zagula. Manhattanville then responded at 7:18 with a power play goal to tie the game 1-1. At 13:31, the Valiants put away a second goal to take the 2-1 lead. Ferrara then put away a powerplay goal at 19:08 with assists from Aguirre and
Gracie Payne to tie the game 2-2 going into the second period.
In the second period, it was Manhattanville who put away the lone goal of the period at 13:41to take the 3-2 lead over the Mustangs. In the third period, both teams put up offensive efforts, but the scoreless period gave Manhattanville the 3-2 win.
Ainsley King stood in net for the Mustangs making 24 stops on the afternoon.
Ashlyn Bray blocked five shots for a season high.
The Mustangs will travel to Arcadia University on Friday for the last weekend series of the regular season. First face off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
