CANTON, N.Y. - Stevenson Women's Ice Hockey remained at Canton to round out their series with the Kangaroos this afternoon. Two early Canton goals would prove to be enough as the hosts achieved a sweep with today's 3-1 final.
Senior Emily Brightbill scored for the second game in a row, notching the Mustangs' third power-play goal of the season late in the second period. The goal was Brightbill's third of the season. Assists were credited to classmates Franki Cappello and Cassie Campbell for their third and fourth points of the season, respectively.Â
Campbell was responsible for three of the Mustangs' 12 shots while also winning a team-high 12 draws in the circle. Brightbill and classmate Katelyn Reid contributed two apiece.
Between the pipes, senior Ainsley King added another 40 stops to this weekend's stat line. Nineteen of those saves came in the second period alone.Â
In front of King, senior Hannah Labbe once again logged the game's highest block total with three. Sophomore Meghan Croyle added two.
The Mustangs return home to Reisterstown Sportsplex to kick off December play next Friday and Saturday, December 1st and 2nd, against MAC and UCHC opponent Alvernia University. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
