PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Stevenson Women's Hockey took on Chatham University again this afternoon to round out their regular season series. Though the Mustangs would score first, Chatham's five unanswered goals would give them the win.
Senior Emily Brightbill notched her first goal of the season just four minutes into the game thanks to a feed by classmate Cassie Campbell. The goal accounts for Brightbilll's first point of her senior campaign while Campbell's assist is her second.
Sophomore Mallory Hunt started the game in goal, making 14 saves on 17 shots. Senior Ainsley King entered in relief, adding 17 saves to the Mustangs' total.Â
Senior Hannah Labbe and sophomores Meghan Croyle and Jayne DeBejian led the Mustangs with two blocks apiece.
In the circle, first year Emma DeMan went a team-best ten-for-17 on draws, followed by Campbell with nine wins.
Stevenson hits the road for three games next week, starting at SUNY Morrisville on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. puck drop. Friday and Saturday, the Mustangs are at SUNY Canton for two more non-conference contests.
