YORK, Pa. – The Stevenson women's soccer team fell 1-3 to the s soccer team fell 1-3 to the York College of Pennsylvania Spartans on Saturday afternoon, due to a second half three-goal run from the Spartans.
Stevenson opened scoring on the afternoon as
Taylor Reider put away a goal off a ball from
Kayla Gerbes in the 12
th minute of the contest. For the remainder of the first half, both teams battled, but it was the Mustangs that walked into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Spartans shutdown Stevenson completely, not allowing a single shot. York tied up the game in the 67
th minute of the contest and followed with a second goal to take the lead in the 81
st minute. In the 87
th minute, York netted one last goal to register a 3-1 MAC Commonwealth win over the Mustangs.
Reider posted a two-point game from a goal, as Gerbes slotted one point from the assist. Gerbes put up two shots on goal, as Reider shot one.
Courtney Wysokowski made three saves in the contest.
The Mustangs will switch back to some nonconference competition as the squad travels to Immaculata, Pa. to match up against the Immaculata Mighty Macs. First touch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
